The Institute for Social Sciences and Humanities (ISSH), founded in [[History#2012|2012]], is a beacon of accessible and uncensored knowledge in social sciences and humanities. Known by various services and initiatives, including a [[Explore#Academia (Graduate School)|Graduate School]], ISSH stands as an alternative online university with a global reach.
Originally established in response to violations of the right to education, academic freedom, and university autonomy, ISSH has expanded its mission to overcome censorship and barriers to impart impartial, high-quality education on an international scale.
Our Netherlands-based institution is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment that encourages critical thinking and intellectual exchange.

#### Internationalization
ISSH's commitment to global education transcends geographical and political borders. Recognized and qualified by [EQF (European Qualifications Framework)](https://europa.eu/europass/en/europass-tools/european-qualifications-framework), we strive to internationalize our scope, encompassing a wide range of educational programs and courses. The NLQF, the Dutch coordinating body responsible for EQF implementation in the Netherlands, has validated ISSH as a higher education institute, and awarded a qualification at [EQF Level 7](https://europa.eu/europass/en/description-eight-eqf-levels) for our [Social Studies](https://database.nlqf.nl/qualification/http:%2F%2Fpurl.ncpnlqf.nl%2Fdata%2Fnl-qualifications%2F3a9c241b-8ac4-408a-96dd-13bf2db8d5a0) Masters level program. ^2380a6
